Leadership Development

The effectiveness of leaders is reflected in their ability to make others successful. It is a highly relational endeavor with individuals and teams, and requires supporting a work environment that fosters transparency, accountability, and learning.

Our ability to be effective often starts with our relationship to ourselves. Leaders need to know themselves in order to increase their emotional resilience in the face of challenging situations. They need to surround themselves with people, who complement them effectively; an environment that requires them to work with people who have different styles, perspectives, and backgrounds.

I support professionals in making the transition from functional management towards a leadership role. Our relationship often begins with soliciting feedback from others that we can leverage to improve communications, increase influence on other decision-makers, and build powerfully engaging work environments.

Systemic Coaching

There’s a lot of unrealized potential lurking between clearly defined functions and roles. While companies have many ways of creating urgency around accountability, the lack collaboration between silos makes it difficult to be successful. However, collaboration is exactly what holds significant promise for the greater good. The key to getting traction on cross-functional collaboration is the ability of people to engage others and navigate difficult trade-off decisions.

Systemic coaching provides a unique perspective on how people navigate collective life and a deeply-felt sense of fairness and belonging. When we act in alignment with this collective wisdom, we are able to accomplish amazing things together. To get there we often encounter difficult truths that are tempting to gloss over, or take shortcuts around, with detrimental consequences.

I support leaders in getting access to that collective wisdom and identifying powerful leadership moves that produce results.

Agile Management Consulting

Agile approaches to project management were pioneered in the world of software development some 20 years ago. It has become the dominant way of managing projects based on its success stories and the realization that the results are much better if you prioritize for learning and adaptiveness instead of control (budgets, resources, features).

In the meantime, many businesses have realized that they’re  not able to keep up with the market disruptions caused by new digital competitors, the increase pace of innovation and lately the COVID19 pandemic. Fortunately, we can leverage the lessons learned in the world of software and transfer the experience into other domains.

I am offering guidance on navigating new ways of working, including visioning and roadmap planning, team trainings and new communication structures that will support you in making your success more resilient.

Testimonials

5/5
I participated in a constellation workshop in which Volker facilitated several very powerful constellations (group experiential exercises), one of which was created to help me explore my relationship to money. What happened that night went way beyond any expectations (and way beyond the expected subject of money), and has served as a catalyst in my own deeper psycho-spiritual work since. Volker held a steady intuitive hand on the tiller throughout the entire process, and his facilitation was insightful, gentle, and clean.
